the Internet. Visitors may take brief quizzes to help determine
whether study habits and learning styles are well suited for online

Computer
Requirements
To succeed in an online course at
Highland, you should have regular, easy access to a computer
that meets the following specifications:
Operating System: Windows XP or Vista or Mac OS System 8.1 or
higher
Internet Connection: Cable/DSL connection (36k Modem or higher would work if nothing else is available)
Web Browser: Microsoft Explorer 7.0 5.0 or higher (preferred).
Monitor Resolution: Bigger is better. Courses look best at 800 x 600 and up.
Multimedia: A CD-ROM, speakers, or video card may be required for your course.
Check with your instructor or read the course information page.
Other Software:
At minimum, a word processing program able to save files in RTF format. Examples:
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Works, WordPad.
Moodle requires that Java is
installed and that cookies are enabled.
Some of the Moodle pages may
have content that requires a plug-in or other software to be
viewed. Below is a list of recommended plug-ins and links to
locations where you can download them. These are not necessary
to use the Moodle system, but are recommended.
