HCC to hold job fair to recruit part-time faculty

October 25, 2017  4 to 6:30 p.m.
Student/Conference Center, Second Floor

Highland Community College is holding a Part-time Instructor Job Fair on Wednesday, October 25, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Student/Conference Center on the Highland campus.

HCC is seeking qualified exceptional part-time instructors to teach in a variety of capacities, including college-credit courses and classes offered through the Business Institute, Lifelong Learning, and Adult Education.

There is particular demand for part-time faculty to teach college-level courses in areas such as biology, chemistry, rhetoric and composition, transitional-level writing, journalism (multi-media platforms), mathematics, and equipment maintenance skills.

Teaching college-level courses requires that the instructor holds a master's degree in the subject area being taught or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the relevant content area.

There is also a need for transitional reading and writing instructors for courses such as Basic College Reading, College Reading Foundations, College Reading Strategies, and Basic Written Communication. A master's degree is preferred in order to teach these transitional courses.

The Business Institute has a need for short-term, contract instructors for customized training in a variety of areas.

Interested individuals are encouraged to download an information sheet here to complete and bring to the job fair on October 25 Those unable to attend may submit an information sheet via email or mail to:
