Highland Gallery; Ferguson Fine Arts Center

Please join us for an Opening Reception of the 2016 HCC Visual Arts Faculty Art Exhibit on Thursday, November 3, 4:30-6:00 pm, Highland Gallery located in the Ferguson Fine Arts Center.

View works of art created by HCC Visual Arts faculty Bob Apolloni (mixed media paintings) Amanda Bulger (digital drawings and sculpture) Jim Planting (jewelry) Berry Treu (paintings) and Sam Tucibat (digital Photography) while socializing and enjoying refreshments. Students from the Hospitality Management area as well as SOVA (Student Organization Visual Arts) will be serving hors d'oeuvres and mock champagne and sparkling water during this Opening Reception. All artwork is also available for purchase, with 20% commission going to support SOVA.

The exhibit runs through December 6, 2016 A Faculty art exhibition, comprised solely of works created by faculty members working in the Visual Arts program, is scholarly – and this exhibit illustrates the commitment of HCC Visual Arts faculty to pursue continued research and artistry outside of the class room setting.

Faculty members of the HCC Visual Arts program are professional artists, as well as instructors, working with a diverse range of media, content, and technical and image-based concerns. Their individualized style and approach creates unique visuals designed to illicit expression, contemplation, and communication among the visiting audience.

This exhibition also allows members of our district to connect with these instructors on a different level than they may have previously experienced. Students, college employees, and community members now have the opportunity to view and discus the professionally published work by these instructors. Especially important is the chance to do this during the Opening Reception, where everyone is invited to view the work and interact with the artists present during this unique time period.

This exhibit features works of art created by current HCC Visual Arts faculty members: Bob Apolloni, Drawing, Design, and Intro to Art instructor; Amanda Bulger, Pottery instructor; Jim Planting, Drawing, Design, and Painting instructor; Barry Treu, Design instructor, and Sam Tucibat, Graphic Design instructor.
