HCC Cosmetology Holds A Shear Passion for Pink Fundraiser for Well Woman of Northwest Illinois

FREEPORT -- The Highland Community College Cosmetology department is holding their annual fundraiser for the Well Woman of Northwest Illinois agency which assists women who are either uninsured or not covered in getting regular cancer screening tests.
This year cosmetology students and instructors donated enough gift items to make up five beautifully filled baskets. Raffle tickets on the baskets will be sold throughout the month. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00 and may be purchased in the department each day from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday – Friday throughout the month of October.
Gift Baskets
New this year is the “Wall of Love”. Purchase a pink heart for $1.00 and place the name of someone you would like to remember or support. The heart is then placed onto the special wall outside the cosmetology department.
All proceeds from the baskets and hearts along with all of Friday October 30th salon receipts will be donated. Cosmetology students will be wearing special pink T-shirts on Fridays to remind everyone to stop in and help us to help others.
