HCC offers three free credit hours of education with After 3 program

Highland Community College is making it easier to start back to school this summer with the After 3 program. Eligible students who
have not been enrolled at HCC or high school/GED program for at least three years qualify for three free credit hours of academics under the program.

There are two ways to receive three free credit hours. Students who register and pay -- or receive financial aid -- for three credit hours in the Summer 2014 semester can receive an additional three free credit hours for Summer 2014, or they can register and pay --or receive financial aid-- for three credit hours in the Summer 2014 semester and receive three free credit hours in the Fall 2014 semester.

"The College saw record enrollment following the economic downturn of 2008 and has since returned to the levels of prior to 2008," said director of enrollment and records, Jeremy Bradt. "We know that there are people who attended at some point from 2009 through 2011 who have not completed a certificate or degree, and the After 3 program is designed to provide some assistance in helping them come back to finish up."

Eligible students must live in Highland Community College District 519.
