HCC Children's Choir to perform multi-cultural collection of folksongs

FREEPORT—On Tuesday April 30, the Highland Community College Children’s Choir will present "A Small Part of the World - Folksongs from Here, There, and Everywhere," beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Ferguson Fine Arts Center, room FA-6.

HCC Children’s Choir Director Dagny Brandt will take the audience on a multi-cultural, musical journey of the customs, cultures, and languages of many countries. This concert is free and open to the public.

A Highland tradition, the Children’s Choir began in the early 1980s. Over the past 25 years, the Children’s Choir is credited for encouraging the musical talents of hundreds of adolescents and teenagers, ranging from 7 to 14 years of age. With no audition required, the choir provides an opportunity to practice vocal music talents as well as promote personal and social growth.
