HCC makes upgrades to make it possible to offer classes in Microsoft Office 2003.
FREEPORT—Highland Community College has recently made upgrades to make it possible to offer classes in Microsoft Office 2003 beginning in the summer of 2006. Previously, Microsoft Office classes were taught using Office 2000. This upgrade in software and technology will better prepare students for what they will see in professional environments outside of the college.
Classes are offered in both open lab, as well as lecture settings, with certain classes offering online sections beginning this fall.
The following MS Office 2003 courses will be offered in the Summer 2006 semester:
Other courses, including Introduction to Windows and Introduction to Information Systems, will also make use of the upgrades to the Microsoft XP Operating System and MS Office.
Microsoft Office 2003 is the successor to Microsoft Office XP (2002) as well as other previous versions of Microsoft Office. By helping connect to the right people, information, and business processes through innovations like integration with Microsoft intranet collaboration technologies, information rights management (IRM), and support for industry-standard Extensible Markup Language (XML), Office 2003 makes it easier for people to take more effective action and get better results.
