Jennifer Grobe

Interim Associate Dean, Nursing & Allied Health
Office Number: N-164

While Jennifer Grobe is new to the role of interim associate dean, she is not new to nursing at Highland Community College. She has been teaching part-time in the nursing department in multiple courses since 2011. Most recently, Jennifer served in the capacity of Nursing Program and Lab Coordinator. Prior to coming to HCC full-time, Jennifer taught nursing at Rockford University, Aurora University, and Sauk Valley Community College, among others.

Jennifer values lifelong learning. Earning her baccalaureate of science in nursing from Rockford University in 2003, Jennifer began her nursing career in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Rockford Health System. Her nursing journey has led her to the GI lab at FHN Memorial Hospital and a case management group in Dixon. Jennifer continued her education through Benedictine University in 2009, earning a Master’s of Science in Nursing with a focus in education and public health. As her passion for education grew, Jennifer also began a PhD program through Capella University in the fall of 2013. She plans to complete her research this year on student evaluations of certified and non-certified nurse educators.

Jennifer is supported by a fantastic team of educators in the division of nursing and allied health. Her goals include continued expansion of the currently offered programs as well as new program development. The team is also looking forward to seeking accreditation status from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
