Highland proves that real bargains do exist. We have the most affordable program in the tri-state region, and we believe our instruction is second to none. Our programs are also financial aid eligible, students need to apply with Highland’s financial aid office.

Only at Highland will you find a computer imaging system, the latest skin care technology, ergonomically correct shampoo bowls, electronically controlled pedicure chairs, and access to all of the College’s technological resources. Our instructors have highly specialized skills. They are fully qualified and licensed with real-world experience.

Communication Skills – Consult Professionally
In order to be truly effective and to build a stunning career, you’ll need excellent communication skills. Communication skills will help you understand your customers’ needs, sell appropriate services and products, and develop your people skills. Highland faculty will be delivering your choice of the required communication and business courses to help you take advantage of your education and meet the requirements for graduation..

Superior Pass Rates
In the 25 years of operation the program has maintained a 97% pass rate on the state board exams for licensure as a cosmetologist and 100% as nail technologist and instructors of cosmetology/nail technology compared to the state average of 81% and 90% respectively. Our teacher graduates have passed with an average test score of 94% and our students have achieved an average 90% score on the cosmetology licensure exam.

Placement Rate
Our graduates excel. The evidence is in our placement rate. For more than five years, 100% of our graduates have been employed prior to graduating from the program.

Highland Community College’s cosmetology program is governed by the Department of Professional Regulations of Illinois as well as the Highland Community College Board of Trustees.
