The
Fine Arts Theatre, located in the Ferguson Fine Arts Center, is the
main stage for our theatrical, instrumental, and vocal performances.
Each year, our curtain rises for a fall and spring play, Summerset
Theatre performances, and a Children’s Theatre performance.
Our ensembles and community vocal groups, including The
Royal Scots, The Chorale, and
The Chamber Singers perform on this
stage. Our instrumental groups, including the Big Band, The Concert
Band, and The Orchestra also perform in the Ferguson Fine Arts Theatre.
The Ferguson Fine Arts Theatre has seating for approximately 400,
including locations that are accessible to wheelchairs. An orchestra
pit borders the theatre’s stage. Theatrical events have reserved
seating placement. A seating chart can help you locate your place.
Instrumental and vocal events do not have reserved seating placement;
seats are available on a first-come basis.
Every seat is a good seat in the Ferguson Fine Arts Theatre. The Ferguson
Fine Arts Theatre upgraded its sound and lighting systems a few years
ago. New speakers provide the truest sound. The lighting is more brilliant
and expressive; improvements and additions provide more on-line instruments
and the latest in control systems technology.
Our guests can enjoy cookies, punch, and coffee during intermissions
at most of our events. These are available for a free will offering.
In addition to the Theatre, the costume shop, the make-up room, and
the technical backstage area, the Fine Arts Center is also home to
The Highland Gallery, graphics design lab; drawing, painting, and
pottery classrooms, as well as a computerized piano lab, instrumental
music rooms. The Box Office and fine arts faculty offices are also
located in the Fine Arts Center.
A parking lot with nearly 300 spaces is located just outside the Fine
Arts Center. Maps and directions to the Fine Arts Center can help
visitors find their way.
