In
a phone conversation with
RuthAnn
Davis a former Project Succeed student who is a junior currently
attending Illinois State University . She informed me that
she
is doing very well in her new environment and has several accomplishments
under her belt.
She
has been asked to join the International Honor Society through the
school, one of her instructors is submitting her name for a scholarship
for the next semester, she is doing a work study on campus with
the campus dining and catering division. RuthAnn also mentioned
that she
would
be taking the LSAT exam in February. Ruth asked to say hello to
everyone and mention that the transition from HCC to a larger university
was difficult at first but allowing herself some time and discipline
has made the transition
easy.
She further stated that she
had
to re-learn some of her skills because what was acceptable at
HCC
does not carryover.
