Reed Bakken, pottery instructor: B.S., Northern Illinois University; M.A., Northern Illinois University; M.F.A., Northern Illinois University.
Reed Bakken is a professional potter and has his own pottery shop in Oregon, IL. He has exhibited his pottery in shows locally and regionally. Reed is not only a distinguished potter, he also is a distinguished teacher. Reed received the Highland Community College Part-time Faculty Excellence Award. He has shared his creative talents with students over 10 years. Reed entices students’ creative energy by directly working with clay. At the completion of his classes, students will not only have an understanding of the processes of clay, they also will have their finished work.
