The Highland geology program (AS) provides the essential
background knowledge necessary for success in this field.
Geology majors study the characteristics and features of
the Earth. This program is designed for students intending
to pursue baccalaureate degrees in geology. Geology
majors should possess a strong aptitude for science and
mathematics, as well as a deep curiosity about the Earth
and its characteristics.
Political
Science
Associate of Arts
The political science program (AA) provides a thorough
introduction to all fields of political science, stressing
governing systems, state and local government, public
policy, the electoral process, foreign policy, and international
relations. Opportunities are provided for participation in
political campaigns. Outside speakers, including foreign
visitors, enhance course content. The HCC program is
designed for students who intend to pursue a baccalaureate
degree in political science. This field is also a typical prelaw
major.
